The Education Pillar serves as the foundation for the Ecological Observation and Wetland Conservations (ECOTON) in its development efforts in education and science. It facilitates and provides understanding to the public, encouraging them to contribute to the preservation of sustainable river ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and equitable, participatory, and sustainable water resource management. Ecoton continues to develop educational and scientific programs through research studies, community training, capacity building, and synergistic innovation to address wetland ecosystem challenges. The education pillar is one of the key elements of the Foundation’s integrity, playing a vital role in fostering positive change for society and environmental sustainability.

Education

Through its education pillar, Ecoton develops educational programs designed to build personal or group commitment to becoming communities that learn about rivers and take responsible actions toward river conservation. Ecoton’s educational programs include the publication of research findings on ecology and social studies (participatory research) in scientific journals. The development of Zero Waste areas involves Ecoton providing assistance to communities in waste management in villages (Zero Waste Cities), schools (Zero Waste School), and households (Zero Waste Family). Additionally, Ecoton collaborates with various sectors to conduct community outreach on the ecological research findings it has conducted. Ecoton also offers opportunities for students to participate in internship or fieldwork programs, open to both science and social science disciplines.
